The 16’ Blue Angel statue was designed by Betty Willis, who also created the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign in 1958. The statue was created for the Blue Angel Motel in downtown Las Vegas. Artist James Stanford, a native of Sin City, reimagines the mid-century iconic Blue Angel, the patron saint of Las Vegas, with jet rockets and propelling them towards the sky.
